Hi, Suzanne, It's simple and really works. Put about two inches of water in the pot and add a big handful of baking soda. Bring this to a boil; it will foam up. Then remove the pot from the heat and let it stand for a while. You should then be able to clean it with no difficulty. If not, repeat the process with fresh water and more baking soda. Good Luck!
