Another thing you can do is sprinkle them with either ranch dressing mix or 
packaged taco seasoning and bake them per package directions. And for "Flaming 
Tots" do either of those and include some cayenne. I've found that a quick toss 
of the frozen tots in some EVOO or another light cooking oil can improve their 
flavor, and if you're avoiding the oils spraying them with cooking spray also 
works.

A cooking talk show host recommends this.  Get some Orida brand potato nuggets. 
 He says to fry them, but cooking according to [package directions would 
probably work.  When they're hot, lightly toss with sweet and sour sauce, then 
sprinkle toasted sesame seeds.If anyone has ever fried tater tots, let me know 
how it went.
