I don't know about the George Foreman grill. I have the Opti Grill. I my opinion it is best suited for two people. I can cook 4 burgers and usually 3 chops at a time. You could cook say, 4 burgers then another 4 and so on and do the same for other meats, but that would involve much extra time. Hope this helps.

I'm assuming this is personal preference but since I'm coming to the party late, what is the difference between this opti grill vs the George formen. I cook for me and my 3 children so I'm going through this thread to see if I should even purchase one or a George formen. If the George formen cannot cook amounts to feed 4 people, will the opti grill do? I suppose that depends on how much my kids eat ey? Just for an example, could the opti grill or George formen do 8 burgers, if not what's the most I can cook at a time. Other things I make can the George formen or opti grill do 5 porkchops? Just a couple of examples. I'm just looking to see 1. What's the difference between these two products, why would one purchase one over the other. 2. It is spacious but it is true cannot grill bone in. Also I used mine a lot because I have a big family and it died right after the warranty expired. It was not worth the money for me to buy a new one. Also, I like the way the George Foreman grill has sides to help place food. The optigrill does not. Overall I would say it isn't worth the price I paid for it, but I have numerous ways to time food and have been cooking long enough that I am good at judging when things are done anyway. It might work for someone who only cooked for 2 and didn't have kids and teenagers using it.

For a family like ours, we prefer the George Foreman.

I am wondering how much cooking space there is on one of these grills. The square inches tells nothing because it might be square or long and narrow, yet have the same square inches of space. The grill that I have will very easily hold two grilled cheese sandwiches on normal loaves of white bread side by side. If I place them right, I can grill a dozen hot-dogs at once. There are 8 hot-dogs to a pound in this example, and are perfectly sized for a hot-dog bun.

I have heard that foods containing bones cannot be grilled on one of these machines, but would also like to know if this is true or not from someone who owns a grill and who has gone through the user's guide.

Just wash the plates then either rub a light coating of oil or spray PAM onto them before using. There are ten buttons in the handle. Power, Defrost, Burger, Chicken, Sandwich, Sausage/Hot dogs, Pork/Steak, Fish, Manual Temp., Okay. Press power, defrost if the item is frozen, whatever you are cooking then Okay. It will play a musical tone when it is done preheating. Place your food on the grill. It will play the tunes again when it is rare again on medium and again when well done.
If you have more items just press the selection again and Okay.
