Suanne, I use white vinegar. Use a mixture of water and vinegar, run it through and then it sit until tomorrow morning. After I run it through I usually sycle through a couple tanks of water. The other thing you need to do is take a paper clip and clean the holes. Coffee gounds get stuck. It surprised me the difference it made.
