Delicious Quick & Buttery Dinner Rolls
2 cups very warm water 1 packet yeast 1/4 cup honey (or sugar) 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking powder 3-1/2-4-1/2 cups flour 1 stick butter Preheat oven to 350ºF 1. In a large bowl, stir together the water, yeast, and honey or sugar. 2. Set the bowl on top of your preheating oven and let it sit untouched for 15 minutes. · After waiting for 15 minutes, the mixture should be slightly foamy. 3. Stir in the salt and baking powder then begin adding the flour by half-cups, just until the dough is no longer sticky but it should be quite soft. 4. Knead until elastic, about 2-3 minutes. 5. Flatten the dough onto a lightly floured board, and slice it into 16 equal pieces. 6. Roll each of the pieces into balls. Slice the top of each ball gently with a very sharp knife to create an X. 7. Place rolls in a 9x13? casserole pan. 8. Melt butter and drizzle it over the top of each roll. 9. Place immediately (or allow to rise for an additional 20-40 minutes) in a preheated oven. 10. As soon as you close the oven door, turn the oven up to 400ºF and bake for 17-19 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown. Enjoy.
