I have a good friend who has asked me to bake a cherry pie for her birthday. I have never baked a cherry pie before. I have looked at lots of recipes but am not sure whether canned cherries or frozen cherries work best. I do not want to use canned prepared filling. Can anyone recommend a tried and true recipe and suggest whether canned or frozen cherries work best? I do a lot of baking but I am at a loss here. Thanks for any suggestions.
