Self Frosting Oatmeal Cookies
1 c. brown sugar 1 c. sugar 1 c. shortening 1 tsp. vanilla 2 eggs 1 1/2 c. flour, sifted 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/8 tsp. cloves 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 2 1/2 c. oatmeal Combine ingredients. Make small balls. Roll in coating of: 1 c. powdered sugar, sifted 1/2 c. nuts, finely chopped Flatten slightly. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Makes 4 to 5 dozen.
