Pamela, I lost my second husband in 2009 from cancer. I got married, last year, for the third time. I never thought I would get married again. It is hard at first, when you are by yourself, but things get easier.

My husband of 31 years, 6 months and 11 days passed away on March 30, and this will be a small gesture of payback for all the kindnesses and help I have received from many of these friends as I have been adjusting to my new situation and learning to function on my own again after so many years of living with sight in my home. Some things have changed in the last 30 years but it isn't being as difficult as I thought it might be to learn the things I need to know and do. More things are accessible than ever before and that is a blessing.
