Our flat top stove has some texture around the eyes making it a little easier to find where to place the pot. However, finding the heat helps to center the pot. mike

I developed and made a template because the stove doesn't have any buttons or switches. If you don't have to deal with a that project, I'm not sure when you say you want something to locate the eye. So, I will guess. Really I have no problem locating the burners. All I do is place the pan on the stove top. Then I just move the pan to where the heat seems to be on the outside of the pan all around it. Now if you are talking about making a template for accessing all the features of the stove, I can get into that later.
