Crock Pot Sausage and Cheddar Breakfast Casserole
Do you dream of waking up to a hot breakfast without having to lift a finger? That dream can be reality with the combo of a slow cooker and some smart timing. Serves four. ready in: over 5 hrs. ingredients 1/2 pound sausage 10 slices bread 6 beaten eggs 1 1/2 cup skim milk salt & pepper, as desired 1 tablespoon yellow mustard 2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese directions Grease the inside of the crock pot. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage and cook, stirring, until browned. Drain off excess fat. Cut the bread into cubes. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and mustard until blended. Make layers of the bread, cheese, and sausage in the crock pot. Pour the egg mixture over the all. Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 8 hours or until the egg mixture is set.
