Oh, I see. So, the lettuce is only used for decoration?
I wondered if it went inside the sandwich or was eaten, but I guess not.

HAM AND CHEESE BREAKFAST SANDWICH

2 slices whole wheat bread
1 tablespoon butter
1 slice Swiss or Cheddar cheese
2 thin slices honey ham
1 egg
pinch salt and pepper
pinch curry powder
2-4 large frilly lettuce leaves

Melt butter and brush both sides of bread slices.

Wipe a griddle or heavy cast iron pan with remaining butter.

Place ham and cheese on one of the bread slices; make a sandwich.

Grill both sides of sandwich, pressing down top with spatula.

Meanwhile break egg gently onto hot griddle. Sprinkle yolk lightly with curry
powder, salt and pepper.

Place sandwich on a serving dish over a bed of lettuce. Carefully position
sandwich over the top slice of bread.

Serve.

Note: Egg may be dropped into an egg ring for a perfect circle, if desired.
