I better fill you in on something.  Earlier this year we had a lightning
storm.  The refrigerator/freezer and microwave were both plugged in and
once the shield fell, I checked the oven and found the top prong that
held the shield in had been sheered off at its base.  We figure the
lightning did that damage and I was lucky the shield remained in for a
while after that hit.  We have a new microwave ordered to replace this
one and I have no idea if it's a replacement of the same model or a
different brand and model.  I'll find out when it gets here.  Thanks for
