A pasta pot is so much safer for this, and they're not expensive. They make
cooking pasta or even boiling vegetables so much easier, and some of them come
with steamer baskets so you can make pasta and also steam vegetables at the
same time. I have two of different sizes and they're wonderful ways to do this
that has substantially lower risk.
