Can I check out the app before I buy a membership?
Sure, just download the app and sign up for an account. You won't be able to
place an order until you purchase a membership but you can browse to your
heart's content!

If you prefer to browse on desktop, simply go to shipt.com/shop and sign up for
an account.

I also prefer Shipt. We recently ordered grocerys through Kroger. They use
instacart. The shopper replaced one of my items with a similar item but never
contacted me. They always contact me through Shipt. You can also pay a monthly
fee with Shipt.

If I may add my two sense worth: I highly prefer shipt at least here because
the shoppers are so much more knowledgeable and it's often been easier for me
to chat with them about my groceries. Also, you can order from shipt without
signing up for their membership but you pay a delivery fee. I forget what the
minimum grocery order is for free delivery though but if you pay for the
membership it's $35 in groceries for free delivery.
I did not know there was a number for Instacart because every time I've tried
to contact them I've only ever had the option of emailing them. I've had a lot
of bad luck with the shoppers. Lastly, you can pay monthly for Instacart
instead of the yearly fee if you'd like. It's $8.99 here.

To clarify some things: to my understanding, you get free delivery with Peapod
if you order $100 worth. Before that, the minimum order is $69, on which there
would be a delivery fee, but for me that is lower then the cost of a
round-trip, so would be worth it.

With Instacart, you can join Instacart express, which saves you on the service
and delivery fees each time, and which is a good option if you feel you would
be shopping often enough to justify the $99 membership fee. You are not
obligated to join Instacart express. It’s nice that their minimum order is $35.
The two week free trial is for if you want to decide if you wish to join the
express membership. Their phone representatives i’ve been very good when
problems have come up. From what little I have seen of Shipt, it seems you
can’t shop without joining their program that’s like Instacart express. I
didn’t do it because they weren’t offering anything different than Instacart in
the way of stores.
