No, Ron, I seriously doubt if you are hopeless. You just need to find a
technique and tool that works well for you. Spreading can be tricky until
you get the hang of it, and believe me when I tell you that many people are
stumped at first. Like with so many things we do there is no one size fits
all. I'm miserable at spreading with a knife, but do quite well with the
back of a spoon. I find that by using the back of a spoon I can spread
more evenly and won't tare the surface of what I am spreading onto. Once
you put a dollop of your spread onto the item you're spreading it on to,
gently press down on the dollop and move about the surface of the item in a
systematic way and stop to check your work with your finger. Sometimes
after I have spread the stuff around I will end by making swirling strokes
which will tend to fill in any gaps. Don't worry if your results aren't as
good as you would like for them to be at first because practice makes
perfect and the more you do it the better you will get. Good luck and
enjoy.

Subject: [CnD] Need some advice on spreading spreads.

Hello to all.
If I remember correctly, Independent Living Aids had a tool for we who are
hopeless on spreading anything.
I've tried using a knife of course, I've tried a spoon and a fork as well.
My fingers do a so so job.
I say that because I get some of the item that I'm spreading say peanut
butter plain old butter and so on with via my fingers.
But would like to be able to coat the entire item evenly without having to
use my fingers.
I say this because anything I try to spread items onto ends up shredded.
Any and all advice will be deeply appreciated.
Many Thanks.
