There is another thing to consider, though it has nothing to do with accessibility. Some of the combination toaster oven, convection oven, and air fryer units have very limited space for air frying, even though they can roast or bake something quite large. The Cuisinart is like this. You can only air fry things that are thin, like chicken wings or fries, but you can't air fry pieces of chicken with the bone in because you can only use the top rack for air frying, and these foods would hit the top of the oven. So even though this thing has a high capacity for baking and using the convection feature, the air frying space is quite limited. Which is sort of too bad, because this and similar units use knobs. Not those inaccessible dials, but actual old school knobs. Label friendly, old fashioned knobs!

You don't want the one with buttons and knobs unless you want to use a sighted person or an app to help you use it each time like Aira or be my eyes, you want the plus that you can have someone help you label then have a cheat sheet to use it. It's all buttons. The dials on the original one are not user friendly. The plus version is available at Walmart. I just got mine today. I'm sending back my original version. Yes. I would like to have an air fryer with buttons if possible. I do not like the one that has the temperature knob and timer knob. If it has buttons I am hoping I can press the buttons to put it on the temperature on it. The one with the 2 knobs is smaller, and it does not have the drawer. I also want a bigger air fryer. I also want a digital one, I think it will be easier to operate. Thanks. Hi Jennifer, Do you want more information about the Power Air Fryer 360? What information do you want specifically? I have put your questions as the heading of each section so it is easier to discern which question I am answering. Would you also like general reviews (such as Consumer Reports) for air fryers? Also I need information as to what the most accessible air fryer? In regards to the most accessible air fryer, I viewed a few websites that focus on accessibility and forums where the public offer their opinions and have included some of the air fryers that they used and what the users had to say about them: A forum called Groups.io had two separate Tech Talks about air fryers. An air fryer from QVC was mentioned as being a good option. It is the Cook's Essentials 5.3-qt Digital Air Fryer w/ 10 Presets & Pan. The user states that the buttons are tactile and arranged in a circle. A second users who uses a Cook Essentials air fryer says that use it often and that "Once you get the hang of the various presets and controls, it’s very easy to use if you are willing to learn the buttons and their functions." Another user mentioned that the used a Faberware air fryer and says, "It has simply two dials one for temperature, and one for the timer. The timer is maxed out at 30 minutes. The timer is not critical except it must be on to operate the fryer. the other dial goes from 170 to 400, and my mom said she just leaves it on the 400 setting for everything. I experimented around with it today and easily made a couple of very good and crispy chicken wings for lunch. They came out as well as pan fried or deep fried with no grease or messy pan to clean. I felt the basket was a little size restricted, and ordered a similar model that is almost twice the size. I think this is going to be a winner as I learn about all the things that can be easily made in the air fryer." The user did not state specifically which model he used, but I did see a Faberware air fryer on Walmart's website that had two dials. There was a podcast on Cool Blind Tech where the hosts talk about tech that they discuss their cool picks for the week. One of the hosts, Nelson, talks about using the T-Fal Actifry Express. He says its simple to use and dishwasher safe. It has 3 button on the back to use (a power button and two buttons related to the timer-does not have a temperature button to change the temperature). Nelson says that the temperature it cooks at is about 350 degrees fahrenheit and has a stirring mechanism in it. I wasn't able to find the exact model he spoke about but did find a T-Fal Actifry with two buttons (a power button and a timer button). I was not able to confirm the temperature setting of the air fryer. There were a couple users in the Groups.io Tech Talk forums who also mentioned the Actifry but did not give more specifics regarding the model they owned or offer any opinion other than it had two buttons. If you are interested in listening to the podcast, you can hear it here; Nelson speaks about 2 minutes and 30 seconds into the episode: https://coolblindtech.com/tag/air-fryer/ I emailed the American Council of the Blind for more information from two webinars they hosted: Cooking with the Air Fryer and It's Electric: Air Fryer and Instant Pot. I also emailed the Office for the Blind and Visually Impaired to see if they had any recommendations. If they respond with any information, I will share that with you. Also I am guessing it would be better to get a digital air fryer? In regards to your question if a digital air fryer is better, I found an air fryer comparison article that talks about digital vs. analog air fryers. They point out that it is up to personal preference and what works best for you but here is there comparison in its entirety: Another important consideration is how the air fryer operates. Like watches, phones, and other modern devices, some have a touch screen, some have a screen with buttons on the side, and some use old-fashioned knobs. All of these options are equally as effective, but it’s important to consider which is most convenient for you before settling on an air fryer. Pros of a touch-screen or partially screen-operated air fryer They look more modern. They’re more intuitive for people accustomed to smart devices. They often come with more options. Cons of a touchscreen air fryer They are more expensive. They can sacrifice looks for efficiency (but not always). If you can’t stand knob-operated anything, a simpler air fryer won’t be satisfying for you. But if you’re on a budget, it may be just what you need. The difference between touchscreen and analog air fryers largely comes down to preference, as the more modern touchscreen designs don’t necessarily come with more options than their simpler counterparts. Also is there a smart air fryer?/ If so if there is a smart air fryer can you also run it manually? There are smart air fryers and it appears that you can operate them either through apps, Alexa, or manually. Possible types are: COSORI Smart WiFi Air Fryer 5.8QT Proscenic T21 Smart Air Fryer There is also an Amazon Smart Oven - A 4-in-1 microwave, convection oven, food warmer, and air fryer. Air fry feature may require more cooking time than standalone air fryers. You can purchase a Braille keypad overlay for the keypad. There is a Youtube video from The Blind Life and the host talks about the Amazon Smart Oven. You can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRGJEpI1ExU Is the digital air fryer a flat screen? Many of the digital air fryers have a flat screens and do not appear to be very tactile. _______________________________________________ Cookinginthedark mailing list [email protected] http://acbradio.org/mailman/listinfo/cookinginthedark _______________________________________________ Cookinginthedark mailing list [email protected] http://acbradio.org/mailman/listinfo/cookinginthedark _______________________________________________ Cookinginthedark mailing list [email protected] http://acbradio.org/mailman/listinfo/cookinginthedark
