For my fellow blind cooks.
For we who use the toaster oven and or microwave ovens.
Here’s a reply from the toaster oven web site which they recommend a link for we meat eaters. So, just trying to help out when and where I can help out with.Ron who’s a fellow blind cook like the rest of the members.

Hello, Ron!

It’s so nice to e-meet you. SMILES.

I didn’t know there was a toaster oven with voice output available, that’s fantastic news. And it sounds like you’re cooking up lots of tasty things with it too.

Unfortunately, Tim and I are not much help when it comes to cooking meat (we’re vegetarian) but there is a gentleman on YouTube who cooks a lot of meats including steak and roasts in his toaster oven.

His channel is called TOSTinMan EasyCooking, here’s a link to his toaster oven videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOEO4KagRhvqsx3OqFSw3MRAwtWSJV6CZ.

He does a pretty good job narrating the cooking and what adjustments he makes for using the toaster oven. Here’s one he has for cooking shrimp: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sj8sxjzEVts

Many toaster oven manufacturers have started to create smaller serving recipes for their toaster ovens. Below are a few from Hamilton Beach that you might like, they’ll also give you an idea of cooking times and temperatures for different proteins. Pork Chops: https://hamiltonbeach.com/pork-chops-with-maple-glazed-apples-sheet-pan-supper Stuffed Chicken: https://hamiltonbeach.com/stuffed-dijon-chicken-sheet-pan-supper
Tilapia: https://hamiltonbeach.com/parmesan-crusted-tilapia

There’s also a great site for single-serving recipes called One Dish Kitchen. She has a recipe for toaster oven broiled salmon and vegetables that you might like, you can find it here: https://onedishkitchen.com/broiled-salmon-for-one/

While most of the recipes on that site don’t have specific toaster oven directions, many of them can be made in one. You’ll just want to check on the food a little early as toaster ovens usually cook things about 10% to 15% faster than a traditional oven.

We also have a lot of smaller serving vegetable recipes on our site that you can find here: https://toasterovenlove.com/category/vegetables/.

Here’s our favorite toaster oven corn on the cob recipe: https://toasterovenlove.com/toaster-oven-baked-corn-on-the-cob/

And here’s a really easy microwave recipe for making a single ear of corn on the cob from the website Simply Recipes: https://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/the_easiest_way_to_microwave_corn_on_the_cob/

I know that’s a lot of info for one email, sorry if it’s overwhelming but I hope it helped a little.

When you have time, I’d love the info on how to subscribe to the cooking in the dark mailing list you mentioned.

Hope you have a great week and happy cooking!

Hello to you Tim and Brie.
My name is Ron Kolesar and I’m a blind bachelor cook.
I’m pretty much a meat and potatoes type of person.
I have a toaster oven that has voice output for the blind and or visually impaired consumer. I also use my microwave oven as well for my main two appliances for cooking. If you have some simple tips and or tricks for cooking and or for browning meats and the temperatures and times for meats and for simple meals?
Then I’m your new customer. SMILES.
Would love to eat a little healthier by cooking say a serving size for one person, say 1/2 to a full cup of fresh vegetables instead of can vegetables loaded with sault. I’ve been trying to find someone that would supply some good old fashion rabbit meat, and or how to do beaf liver and or rabbit liver.
As well as a good steak and or roast.
I do chicken in my toaster oven and breakfast sandwiches in the toaster oven and microwave combo all of the time, just for a small example. I’m not all that bad off, but we all can afford to learn something new. SMILES. Would love to learn to do corn on the cob in the toaster oven and or in the microwave oven and so on. I’d also love to learn how to do fresh fish and or devein shrimp in the toaster oven as well.
 If at all possible.
I live in a small city call Girard, which is in Erie County, in the northwest corner of the state of Pennsylvania, near the PA/OH border.
 Many thanks.
Ron who’s looking forward to learning how to be a better and healthier blind cook. I can’' give you info for subscribing to a cooking in the dark mailing list? Which is a huge group of people who are totally blind or have low vision needs and can cook from all different levels.
Let me know if you would want that info or not.
 Very Thankfully Yours,
 Ron Kolesar
