Thanks for this, Nick. I just wanted to highlight the fact that the root name servers are explicitly exempted from the directive (in recital 32, article 6.20 and annex II). This exemption was something that the RIPE NCC actively advocated, along with Netnod and others in the technical community, and we’re really pleased to see that our collective efforts paid off.
Thank you to everyone who played a role in helping to strengthen the directive in this way, and any other ways you may have contributed.
