Is there any particular reason to hang onto the gtk1 port? Seems
like
all it does is generate bug reports.
Indeed.

Is there anyone who needs the GTK1 version? (And if so, why?)

Thanks,

AFAIR Redhat 8 (which is without gtk2) is still used in a number of labs
(and esp. industry - Judith, Tardeusz?!),

One could distribute binaries specific to that platform - or w/ precompiled gtk2 libraries... Heck - there are alot of support libraries wrapped up in the binary distro of coot already.... I could envision a binary distro w/ or w/o gtk2 libraries being shipped (i.e. depend on system libraries).... Heck - you are already depending on the O/S for other libraries....
