Hello everyone,

I'm wondering if it's possible to configure COOT to update distances/angles automatically when atoms are moved. I read a 2007 COOTbb post indicating this would be implemented as "dynamic distances" in the 0.5 release, however I'm running 0.5.2 and I can't seem to get the "dynamic distances" button in the geometry menu to do anything. So far I haven't found the right information in the manual. The Jan. 2008 COOT 0.4 announcement post to the bb says that Dynamic Distances are "distances to intermediate atoms", but I'm not sure what that means. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I am pretty sure that I wrote this up somewhere - but I can't find it in the manual. Hmm..

You need to be displaying intermediate atoms (e.g. by using Rot/Trans Zone). Then click on an intermediate atom (white/whitish) and a static (conventional) atom. the wiggle about your moving fragment.
