...unfortunately, I don't seem to get it working; here's what I see at the coot scheme scripting window :

coot> set-b-factor-bonds-scale-factor 1 100
#<primitive-procedure set-b-factor-bonds-scale-factor>
coot> 1
coot> 100

...and nothing happens with my molecule 1. Of course tried playing around with the actual scale factor (intuitively , I thought it may be acting as a direct multiplier...100 in that case should do the trick). Tried changing the imol integer value as well, to modify other molecules (already read or not)....no success.

What am I doing wrong?

Might not be exactly the scaling  you are after, but in most cases
this one does the job:
