Hi Bernhard,
Thanks for all the informations.
(or /help instead of ?). Although I think the silent option may be
missing there. I guess I have to revisit this part of the installer...
Right. I tried this before sending out the mail. The silent option is
missing in the option list:
[...]
OK, I will add this. I guess since this is an installer default I
omitted it.
My experience is, that each installer uses other options for silent
installations (/s, /S, /q, -s, /qn, etc.). What installer framework are
you using for WinCoot?
* Is there also a silent option for the uninstaller?
Not sure. Never bothered much with the uninstaller, as there is nothing
to 'uninstall', just plain removal of files. My guess is '/S' as well,
but I can have a look into this.
/S doesn't work (I tried already). Is somewhere a complete list of
files to remove e.g. in a textfile? If I have the list, then I can do
the silent removal with a simple batchfile.
* Is there a way to define the start menu entry [...]?
Not yet. 'Windowsy' stuff was added fairly lately and I didnt bother
updating the command line installer accordingly (yet). Links I havent
thought about at all (yet). All doable, but give me a few days and it
will appear in the pre-release.
No hurry...
What I also noticed: WinCoot is not in the list of the Application
Wizard (appwiz.cpl) and therefore cannot be uninstalled from there.
Because it is not registered in the Applications. Unlike all/most
Windows programs I/WinCoot dont like to mess with the registry and
similar things.
Fine with me. That means, that I don't have to bother, too :-)
