Dear Coot experts and Paul, last week I configured a new graphic computer running under the newest openSUSE 12 distribution and installed Coot 0.6.2 together with the CCP4 package.
All program tools work fine (even 3D!), exept of deleting residues/monomers and water. Reinstalling of the last available Coot Suse build improved nothing. It is possible to delete atoms, sidechains, zones, but when I want to delete single residues or waters. The output: (set-delete-residue-mode) Click on an atom in the residue that you wish to delete (set-delete-residue-water-mode) pick_mode: 0 (0) " O "/1/chainid="W"/465/HOH, occ: 1 with B-factor: 47.48 element: " O" at (19.54,17.231,-15.135) : 0.129131 debug:: delete_atom: we have a matching residue 465 :: INFO:: backup file coot-backup/prot-coot-1.pdb_Mon_Jan_30_15:12:48_2012_modification_0.pdb.gz /opt/coot/bin/coot: line 247: 27460 Segmentation fault $coot_real $@ coot-exe: "/opt/coot/bin/coot-real" coot-version: /opt/coot/bin/coot-real platform: /bin/uname core: #f No core file found.
