I found the problem. It seems that the script wants
clipper-2.1-1109915-fixup.tar.gz but pulls clipper-2.1-1109915-fixup-2.tar.gz
from the server. I renamed the file to -fixup.tar.gz, re-ran the script, it
pulled fixup-2.tar.gz anyway but happily found the renamed file and continued.

I would start by reading the clipper configure/build log file (which you can
find in a directory in a directory that contains the build log).

Sorry, my mistake - an oversight in the build script.
In due course I hope these fixes will be tested and robust enough for me
to send over to Kevin so that they can be put into Clipper proper.
