I am familiar with the discussion in HADOOP-3109, and am still unsure why this
new approach is preferred. The number of connections is limited by the file
handle limit, so at some point we need to stop accepting new connections. The
listen queue is a good place to do this without outright refusing the
connections. It too is limited in size, but its default value can easily be
increased. Wouldn't that be a simpler and more scalable approach than adding a
new thread and queue in the namenode?
