I'm sorry if I missed this, but wouldn't this patch be _much_ simpler if we
used the RawLocalFileSystem rather than java.io.* ? The interspersed
org.apache.hadoop.fs.* and java.io.* code makes the entire sort/shuffle/merge
pipeline more complicated to maintain.
