I've just re-opened defect HADOOP-3844, and would propose that patch
gets rolled back or a replacement I'm about to write goes in
instead. rollback is easiest.
Looks like this is now https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/
HADOOP-4659. Can it be fixed in 0.19.1?
