I searched through the JDK sources and I don't see anywhere obvious that
uses null. In JDI there are two cases where the loader is specified to
be the defining loader of the service type and those cases would end up
using null if used with exploded classes on the file system (dev
environment without images so no tools.jar where JDI normally lives). So
I'm inclined to thing this is mostly harmless.
