I will hold off on updates for now. I was going to incorporate Jeff Hain's
nextDouble suggestion into the lambda version but will leave it out for now.
On the other hand, we just found out that our long-postponed outage
here as our department moves across street to a new building is
on again for tomorrow morning, so now might be better than later.
We can only guess when later might come...
