I see. In that case, my suggestion won't help you (although as a test of whether this is the issue, you could try launching the app from the terminal to see if that makes a difference).

I meant as a workaround of the problem of not being able to grant access to the application. It seems we will need to find a solution to this, so I'll file a bug (which may or may not be related to jpacakge).
