It would certainly be good stress test of the cleanroom jvms, but given that even BEA JRockit has shown up some log4j-related quirks, it would be a lot of work to be sure that everything was stable.
Anyone attempting it should make sure they have support from the various relevant projects to take on board any patches they plan to submit, -there will be patches, if they don't get taken up then you end up maintaining them. Which means convincing the hadoop dev team that
