I registered for AVAudioSessionSecondaryAudioHintNotification and do not
receive a notification on the first remote-control start of the Music App after
my app is launched with it’s preference for secondary audio set to play while
the Music App is not playing Subsequent remote-control starts and stops of the
Music App send the appropriate notifications. See scenario 1 below.
If I launch my app with it’s preference for secondary audio set to play while
the Music App is playing, I receive all notifications from remote-control
starts and stops of the Music App - none are missing. See Scenario 2 below.
If I launch my app with it’s preference for secondary audio set to do-not-play,
I receive all notifications from remote-control starts and stops of the Music
App - none are missing.
Scenario 1 (problem) - launch my app while Music App is not playing:
1. Music App is not playing.
2. Launch my app with the preference for secondary audio to play.
Secondary audio plays.
3. Remote-control start music app.
Problem - No notification is received, so both the Music App audio and
the secondary audio track of my app play.
4. Remote-control stop the Music App.
Proper notification received, only my app’s secondary audio plays.
5. Remote-control start the Music App.
Proper notification received - secondary audio stopped on my app, only
Music App plays.
6. Remote-control starts and stops continue to send proper notification.
Scenario 2 - launch my app while Music App is playing:
1. Music App is playing.
2. Launch my app with the preference for secondary audio to play.
Secondary audio does not play since the Music App is playing
(determined by secondaryAudioShouldBeSilencedHint)
3. Remote-control stop the Music App.
Proper notification received, only my app's secondary audio plays.
4. Remote-control start the Music App.
Proper notification received, secondary audio stopped on my app, only
the Music App plays.
5. Remote-control starts and stops continue to send proper notification.
I have been unable to find what I am doing incorrectly. Do you have a
suggestion?
