According to 
http://dafx10.iem.at/proceedings/papers/VonDemKnesebeckZoelzer_DAFx10_P102.pdf 
LTP is best, but introduces some latency. If latency is an issue, YIN 
(http://www.cs.tut.fi/~digaudio/htyo/lahteet/2002_JASA_YIN.pdf) is the 
preferred solution.

So:
