That page says "Apple AAC is an AAC codec developed by Apple … Apple's AAC 
encoder is known to be one of the highest quality medium-bitrate CBR and VBR LC 
AAC encoders.” In other words, it’s actually talking about a codec 
implementation, not the data format or algorithms.

But agree that someone reading that page could become confused and think that 
it says Apple created AAC itself.
