IIUC, audio units on iOS always run in a separate process and communicate via 
XPC, so there is no host process to speak of.

(Maybe the question then is: can you get information about the process that XPC 
is talking to? Or, since you’re creating a custom audio unit, could you ask 
callers to pass you some metadata in the parameter tree?)
