There's a how-to in the CoreBlog site that tells how to be warned via e-mail when a comment or trackback is added (see http://coreblog.org/howtos/notification_howto_html). I don't know if it works with moderation enabled, or from what version on this works. If it works in your case, I suppose you can change it to make it send a notice to the poster. Anyway, if your problem is comment spam, I have changed the methods in that link so that they check if the comment/trackback can be considered spam, if so they delete it and the notification sent has a notice saying that it has been deleted.
