Using Zope's security, addCOREBlog2Comment, will work well.

What I was looking for (and found myself) was the ability to better
fill in the comment fields with data from the Plone account.
I've modified cbcomment_form to pull member/fullname and member/email.
We're still debating weather this should just be form default values of
if we should remove the ability to change it.
It might be a useful change for a later revision to pull /fullname and
/email into that form automatically.
