This is getting into buildrom territory. We had a discussion on IRC and I think buildrom will converge with coreboot Kconfig at least partly in the future. I think having an option is a great idea, as long as it does not imply build the toolchain first. Maybe just specify a directory to where the desired toolchain has been installed?
