Yes the patch is right. Once patched we can use "power_on_after_fail" in cmos.layout to control this feature. Without this patch the "power_on_after_fail" has been ignored. I run it for just 2 days and seems OK. Anyway not sure it is OK or not for a long run. I think it should be OK since it is a trivial patch.
