Fred, as long as the video output in Linux environment, it seems the video controller is configured properly, so maybe something wrong in seabios in configuring video to text mode (I remember seabios will configure video to text mode as default, correct me if I am wrong).
I would suggest you enabling Boot Splash in coreboot, you might be able to see the boot splash photo show up on your monitor.
