The *file` command should help you.
For my AMD Video BIOS from the ASRock E350M1 I get the following.
$ file vgabios.bin
vgabios.rom: BIOS (ia32) ROM Ext. IBM comp. Video (113*512)
If the method you used, did not work, please report a bug to the Intel
graphics folks [1].
