I have not read the page in full detail, just curious: was it
necessary to unsolder the chip, was it not possible to program it
using flashrom from Linux command line instead?
Maybe the ME section is write protected - still, writing the rest of
the image could have worked just fine.
As lynxis wrote, currently it does not seem possible to flash it without
at least physical access to the chip´s pins :-/
