[coreboot] Removing ME on G45 desktop chipset - same as GM45 mobile?

I am wondering if the procedure for removing ME on a GM45 mobile chipset 
motherboard would work on its desktop siblings, has anyone done this 
before? I have a G45FC from Intel which has an X4500HD graphics chipset 
and ICH10R southbridge.
