Thanks for the info about the fans Tim, Zoran, and Taiidan.

I haven't tried to use fancontrol yet, so I'm confident that will be the 
solution to my fan issue.

I got it. Raptor's OpenBMC port for the KGPE-D16/KCMA-D8 boards module 
should/must be included in Debian distro
as driver addendum. In this case it is not.

Additionally I added this info to the wiki many months ago, as I too was 
bothered by the fan speed when I first installed coreboot years ago and assumed 
something was broken to which tim explained it for me too :D
