I’m looking to flashing Coreboot on Clevo laptops that did *not* come from the
factory with open‑source firmware (e.g. not NovaCustom or System76). I’ve seen
NovaCustom’s V54/V56 models and system76 with prebuilt Coreboot—those look very
promising, but their price is a bit high. Meanwhile, there are other vendors
offering generic Clevo models (appears using the same Clevo V540/V560 hardware).

What I’d like to know:

1. If I buy a generic Clevo V540/V560/X560/X580, can I realistically flash it
with Coreboot?
2. It seems that Intel BootGuard may *prevent* Coreboot from running if it’s
enabled on stock Clevo hardware.
3. I’ve come across reports that Clevo’s BootGuard private keys may have been
*leaked*, and some forum posts suggest this might allow signing custom BIOS
images to bypass BootGuard.
4. However, it’s not clear if anyone has actually succeeded in flashing
Coreboot on a *stock* Clevo laptop.

My main questions are:

* Has anyone here successfully flashed Coreboot on a Clevo unit that shipped
with proprietary firmware?
* If so, did you rely on leaked BootGuard keys (or some other method)?
* If not, is BootGuard still effectively blocking Coreboot on Clevo?
Any insights, success stories, or war stories would be hugely
appreciated—thanks in advance!
