## Announcements & Events
  * OSFC 2025
    Dates: October 7–10, 2025

## coreboot Leadership Meeting - Late GMT

## Attendees
David Hendricks, Jon Murphy, Maciej Pijanowski, Martin Roth, Matt DeVillier,
Maximilian Brune,
Werner Zeh, Michael Kopec, Julius Werner, Alicja Michalska, Mina Asante, Jay
Talbott.

## Minutes

### [Martin] Review coreboot project documentation.
  * See [coreboot
projects](https://docs.google.com/document/d/15H2m4swdESSgGaIuINOePkyst8b39Y7LulNPxkRbtHY/edit#headig=h.v8f7vy7yzy2r)
 document
    * [Werner] Martin needs to review it by himself first, he will come back
next time.

### [Martin] coreboot Coverity errors resolution
  * I’d like to propose we start creating patches for coverity errors and
reviewing them.
    * [MattD] Shall we swap the community review meeting once a month with a
“coverity review issues” meeting?
  * [Martin] Sure, it could be a path forward. Start for the first time on
August 13th.

### [Werner] Revisit last meeting’s topic “RFC v2 - Bootblock redundancy with
coreboot”
  * [Maciej] While version 1 was based on VBOOT, version 2 does not anymore
    * [Werner] Where is the “top-swap” bit toggled?
    * [Michal] Every copy of the bootblock can toggle the top-swap bit as
needed.
    * [Werner] How do you recover from a broken firmware slot?
    * [Michal] By clearing the CMOS area as top-swap bit is buffered in CMOS RAM
    * [Martin] I do not have a general issue with this solution; it solves a
problem. Though, I would rather see a more generic solution (as this one
relies on Intel features). Maybe we can refactor it a bit to make it more
generic in a later review. So go for it!
    * [David] Seems like it has the potential to be generically available on
x86 if we work a bit on this.
    * [Max] AMD’s solution relies on PSP here.
    * [Julius] Looks fine. Maybe we should name the FMAP sections a bit
differently so that cbfstool can handle them better.
      We can work on details in review.

### [Subrata] Developing a self-test framework in coreboot
  * Mailing list:
(https://mail.coreboot.org/archives/list/coreboot@coreboot.org/thread/ZLHWZGWU2PMP5CIHQ7DBM3XSYTAXQPA/)
  * Spec:
(https://drive.google.com/file/d/1TyOxw_acrextI-GVI2IE4omdg0f1evyn/view)
    * [Martin] Go ahead and look around
    * [Mina] Kanika and Subrata will present details at the next meeting.

## coreboot Leadership Meeting - Early GMT

## Attendees
Werner Zeh, Mina Asante, Ziang Wang, Yuchi, Shuo Liu, Li Jincheng.

## Minutes

### [Ziang] To raise coreboot ACPI support for QEMU RISC-V virt as a project in
RISC-V Software
Ecosystem (RISE) community (require RISE membership for link below):
(https://lf-rise.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HOME/pages/8589425/Firmware+Projects)
  * [Ziang] Make coreboot+Linux a standard boot solution for RISC-V Servers.
QEMU is used for now;
eventually real hardware will be used. It is for now a good way to demonstrate
the capabilities of
this solution even before the RISC-V-Servers are available. Once hardware is
available, it will
hopefully be easy to switch to it based on the prepared work.
  * [Ziang] Proposes to add more ACPI support to coreboot in this context in
order to get better
support for RISC-V-Servers.
FW_CFG is the interface of QEMU where coreboot support is not so great
    * [Werner] Is there planned work on the coreboot side?
      * [Ziang] Yes, ByteDance will do the work; RISC-V members will mostly do
the review on the coreboot side.

# Next Leadership Meetings Date
  * August 6, 2025.
  * [coreboot Calendar](https://coreboot.org/calendar.html).

# Notice
Decisions shown here are not necessarily final and are based
on the current information available. If there are questions or comments
about decisions made, or additional information to present, please put
it on the leadership meeting agenda and show up if possible to discuss
it.

Of course items may also be discussed on the mailing list, but as it's
difficult to interpret tone over email, controversial topics frequently
do not have good progress in those discussions. For particularly
difficult issues, it may be best to try to schedule another meeting.

We now host two leadership meetings, one in early GMT and one in late GMT, to
better accommodate
participants from the Asian time zones.
Kindly note that both sessions use the same meeting notes and Google Meet link.
