Unless the main developer objects, I'll make the underline lighter as per https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=786912. That would change it in all hyperlink-enabled VTE-based emulators, which as the time we speak means GNOME Terminal and Tilix. I haven't seen this feature working on iTerm2 yet as I don't have access to a Mac, I don't know how it looks there. For the rest, I really think we should wait until this feature gets widely adopted and users start sending valuable feedback. [...] but bad in the ls case since they don't add any info. > As long as "ls" is the only utility we care about, this could probably be true. However, I imagine that _some_ of "stat", "grep", "find", "gcc" and others might also eventlually add hyperlink support. And then it's not feasible for users to keep in mind which ones do and which ones don't (or just not configured right now to do, or omitted right now because the output was piped through a filter). I'd much rather the terminal emulator explicitly helps users here. The bottom line is still: I'm not convinced that you are right here, just as much as I'm not convinced that I am right either :-) I'd really push out what we have now as-is and wait for users' feedback. cheers, e.
