You didn't describe WHAT the utility does, which makes it hard to judge whether it belongs in coreutils or some other package. Can it be rewritten in C or must it remain a perl script? We don't have any perl scripts in coreutils, and it's probably not a good idea to require perl for something as low-level as coreutils. Is it truly Linux-specific? If so, you're probably better off proposing it for inclusion in util-linux, https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/utils/util-linux/util-linux.git/. > Legal Disclaimer: Information contained in this e-mail, including any files > transmitted with it, may contain confidential... This disclaimer is not enforceable on publicly-archived lists; that said, you may wish to use your own email rather than your employers when sending further email so as to avoid having someone delete your email without reading it because they don't trust the legalese disclaimer that your employer spams us with. -- Eric Blake, Principal Software Engineer Red Hat, Inc. +1-919-301-3266 Virtualization: qemu.org | libvirt.org
