Senior Member of the Engineering Staff Software Engineer - iCom Embedded Applications DOMAIN: Ø Real-time, highly reliable telecommunications applications embedded in minicomputers, microprocessors, and digital signal processors for Command and Control Subsystems. DUTIES: a.. Methodologies: Under minimal supervision, uses Object Oriented or Structured software methodologies to accomplish assigned tasks. b.. Process: Uses SEI CMM and/or ISO 9000 compliant processes to execute assigned software tasks in a team environment. c.. Leadership: Assigns technical tasks to members of small teams. d.. Reports task progress using written and oral communications. e.. Mentors junior engineers. f.. Planning: Estimates personal and team effort for assigned tasks. g.. Requirements Analysis: Analyzes Subsystem requirements and identifies Software Configuration Item and lower-level software component Requirements. h.. Design: Defines Software Configuration Item component architectures. i.. Development: Develops real-time embedded applications in structured high-level languages (C, C++, Java) and some assembly language. j.. Integration and Test: Defines test plans/procedures and integrates and tests real-time embedded systems. k.. Tools: Uses minicomputer/microcomputer-based software development tools and laboratory test equipment to produce software and documentation compliant with project standards. Requirements: a.. US Citizen, US Government Secret (or higher) Security Clearance preferred but not mandatory. b.. BS, BA, or equivalent: Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering/Mathematics/Physical Science with substantial software coursework. c.. MS degree desired. d.. Strong written and oral communication skills. e.. Strong experience in developing application software for Telecommunications, VoIP or Telephony products. f.. Strong experience with Object Oriented Development strategies and all phases of a structured product development cycle. g.. Proficiency in Commercial RTOS; strong experience in debugging RTOS level issues and troubleshooting complex, real-time hardware/software issues. h.. Proficiency with Microsoft-hosted Integrated Development Environments (IDE) i.. Prior experience with UML modeling tools such as Telelogic Rhapsody is very desirable. j..
