The Sr. Programmer Analyst's role is to define, analyze, develop, test, and maintain new/existing software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications. The Sr. Programmer Analyst will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle. Responsibilities: a.. Analyze, design, code, test, implement and support applications. b.. Work directly with internal users and departments to analyze and assess new/existing business systems and procedures and translate business requirements into solutions. c.. Gather, develop and validate system requirements in collaboration with business users. d.. Develop technical designs, including software architecture, component designs, data models, data flows and impact analyses. e.. Collaborate with Network Administrators and Application Support team in resolving problems with interface programs, extracts, reports, and other applications. f.. Assist in defining software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation. g.. Provide application support to business end users, including development of ad-hoc queries and scripts. h.. Anticipate amp; resolve data integration issues across applications and analyze data sources to highlight data quality issues. i.. Collaborate with vendors for efficient integration with software products or systems, and for resolution of any issues. j.. Develop and maintain application support operating procedures. k.. Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades. l.. Lead and/or provide guidance to team members. Position Requirements: ü Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Software Engineering, or 8 years equivalent work experience. ü 3+ years programming experience in .NET. ü Extensive knowledge of object oriented design concepts and UML. ü Experience developing web applications in the .NET framework. ü ASP.NET and VB.NET preferred. ü 5+ years of full-life cycle development experience using RDBMS and client/server development platforms, of which 3+ years must be using MS SQL Server 2000 or 2005. ü Working knowledge of SQL language and query development techniques. ü Experience in developing and consuming Web services. ü Experience in developing business reports using Crystal Reports, MS Reporting Services 2005, MS Access, COGNOS or similar report generator. ü Excellent understanding of SDLC, programming best practices, and software configuration management. ü Experience in data and software modeling techniques and tools. ü Knowledge of HTML, DHTML, XML, VB Script/Java Script and CSS. ü Experience in ETL data conversion programs is preferred. ü Experience in the auto warranty industry is preferred. ü Experience collaborating with end-users to gather insight on functionality, interfaces, problems, and/or usability issues. ü Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. ü Ability to quickly learn and utilize new technologies. ü Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. ü Highly self-motivated and self-directed. ü Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. ü Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
